The 5-Day Uganda Gorilla Express Safari is a focused gorilla trekking trip designed for travellers with limited time who don’t want to miss Uganda’s greatest experience — coming face to face with mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It pairs the trek with the beautiful scenery of southwestern Uganda for an unforgettable short adventure.
You’ll travel in a private 4×4 safari vehicle with a professional English-speaking driver-guide, staying four nights in comfortable lodges with meals. Your gorilla permit is included — a significant cost (Uganda gorilla permits are currently US$800 per person) that we handle and secure on your behalf, so your hour with a gorilla family is fully covered.
The heart of this trip is a guided trek into Bwindi to spend a strictly limited, magical hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family — one of the world’s truly great wildlife encounters. Beyond the trek, you can enjoy a moving Batwa community experience, relax by the stunning Lake Bunyonyi, and soak up the terraced hills of Uganda’s scenic southwest. See our Bwindi gorilla trekking and Uganda gorilla trekking guides for more.
As a specialist Africa tour operator, we handle every detail — the all-important gorilla permit, your private vehicle, expert guide, park logistics, quality lodges, and transfers — so your once-in-a-lifetime trek goes smoothly. Because permits are limited and sell out, early booking is essential. Contact us to secure your permit and dates.
Please note that gorilla trekking has a minimum age of 15 years, as set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, so this safari is not suitable for younger children.
