Tanzania

The United Republic of Tanzania, commonly known as Tanzania, is a country located in East Africa. It is bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south, and the Indian Ocean to the east. Tanzania covers an area of about 365,000 square miles (945,000 square kilometers), making it one of the largest countries in Africa.

Tanzania is home to more than 61 million people, making it one of the most populous nations in Africa. The capital city is Dodoma, while the largest city and major economic hub is Dar es Salaam, which is also located along the Indian Ocean coast. Tanzania is known for its rich cultural diversity, with over 120 ethnic groups, and it is famous worldwide for its stunning natural landscapes, including Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, and the Serengeti National Park, which is renowned for its annual wildebeest migration.

Tanzania’s geography is equally diverse, with landscapes ranging from coastal plains and savannas to mountainous regions. The country also shares its borders with three of Africa’s largest lakes: Lake Victoria to the north, Lake Tanganyika to the west, and Lake Nyasa to the southwest.
